Dr Malpas qualified from Imperial College University of London 1998. She joined St Hilary Group Practice as a GP in 2003. After many years as an undergraduate tutor at the University of Liverpool, Dr Malpas has moved to post graduate education and works for Health Education England as Associate Dean for General Practice Liverpool and the Isle of Man.

Dr Malpas was made a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in November 2019. She is married to Lee and lives on the Wirral with their two sons and a daughter. She is also involved in training for GPs through the North West Deanery. She works as a GP appraiser as part of the revalidation process for GPs via the GMC.
